Interactive Storybook Templates: Enter a New Dimension in Each Page

In this session, we will present an overview of computer storybook adaptations that have been authored in recent years, and the various ways in which they strengthen literacy skills. We will review the unique features in adaptations from Pati King-DeBaun, Linda Burkhart, Cindy Kerr, Caroline Musselwhite, and others, as well as our own adaptations. We will look at additional ideas for strengthening literacy skills through including word-making and writing activities based on storybooks. We will do a brief comparison of the main software programs that authors have used to create adapted storybooks, including IntelliTools Classroom Suite, Boardmaker Plus, Clicker 5, BuildAbility, and My Own Bookshelf.
